Response of growth and yield of short-straw wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) to salinised water and cycocel (CCC)

In a pot trial, dwarf wheat Sidi El-Misri was irrigated with 0, 2000, 4000 or 6000 p.p.m. CaCl2 + NaCl, and given 2 foliar sprays of 0 or 1.2 kg chlormequat a.i./ha. Seedling emergence was delayed and plant height at early stage reduced by increasing salinity. Chlormequat significantly reduced plant height but did not significantly affect grain yield or yield components.
