Response of herbage species to fertilizers on peat-bog soils

Response of herbage species to fertilizers on peat-bog soils

Trudy, Vsesoyuznyi Sel' skokhozyaistvennyi Institut Zaochnogo Obrazovaniya (106): 87

In trials during 2 years with low-yielding natural grasslands dominated by forbs such as Ranunculus acer and Trollius europaeus, on peat-bog soils in Moscow region, application of 60-240 kg N + 60 kg P2O5 + 60 kg K2O and 60 kg N + 120-150 kg P2O5 + 60 kg K2O/ha increased average hay yields from 2.53 t/ha without NPK to 2.62-3.15 and 3.54-3.69 t/ha, respectively; yields increased with increasing rates of N and P; P was more effective than N on these soils.
