Response of phosphorus and potash on the fibre yield of sunnhemp (Crotalaria juncea L.)

When six varieties were grown with no fertilizer, 40 kg K2O/ha, 40 kg P2O5/ha, and 40 kg K2O + 40 kg P2O5/ha, (1) SJ67-42 gave the highest yield of fibre and had the greatest height and stem-base diameter; (2) P2O5 alone resulted in maximum plant height and stem-base diameter and the highest yields, while K2O alone or with P2O5 resulted in decreased yields: (3) plant height and stem-base diameter at harvest were highly correlated with fibre yield; and (4) plant height was highly correlated with stem-base diameter.
