Response of pigeon pea varieties to levels of nitrogen and phosphate in laterite soil

In trials in 1973-4 with 3 pigeon pea cultivars, average seed yields were increased from 0.88 t/ha without N to 1.07 t/ha with 20 kg N/ha, were not further increased with 40 kg N/ha and were increased from 0.83 t/ha without P to 1.07 and 1.17 t with 80 and 120 kg P2O5/ha, respectively.
