Response of plant growth regulators to sex expression, fruit development and quality in watermelon

When MH, IAA and NAA were applied to Citrullus vulgaris at five concentrations ranging from 50 to 250 p.p.m., all concentrations decreased the ratio of female to male flowers, 250 p.p.m. MH causing the greatest decrease followed by 50 p.p.m. NAA and 100 p.p.m. MH. Fruit size was increased considerably over that of the control by 100 p.p.m. NAA and 200 p.p.m. MH.
