Response of plant parasitic and soil nematodes to extracts of amended soils

Response of plant parasitic and soil nematodes to extracts of amended soils

Pantnagar Journal of Research 2(2): 153-157

Aqueous extract of margosa cake-amended soil inhibited egg release, larval hatch and motility of Meloidogyne javanica more than an aqueous extract of sawdust-amended soil. The ether soluble fraction of methanol extract of margosa cake- or sawdust-amended soil reduced larval motility of M. javanica, Aphelenchus avenae and Hoplolaimus indicus and the ether insoluble fraction of methanol extract inhibited A. avenae and Dorylaimoides spp. but not H. indicus.
