In trials in 1968-70 on loam soil of high N and P content with potato Kufri Sindhuri given 0-240 kg N and 0-180 kg P2O5/ha, increasing N rates increased tuber yields, but decreased plant density at harvest. P had no effect on yields. There was a significant N X P interaction.
