Response of potato varieties to potash and nitrogen fertilization

In trials in 1968-70 with 3 potato cultivars, tuber yields increased from 26.1-28.57 t/ha without K to 32.21-40.8 t with 100 kg K2O/ha and from 26.93-36.52 t with 60 kg N/ha to 32.33-39.47 t with 120 kg N/ha. Cultivar (a) Kufri Chandramukhi, (b) Kufri Alankar and (c) Kufri Chamatkar gave yields of 35.62, 34.77 and 38.59 t/ha, respectively, in 1968-9 and 27.45, 28.44 and 27.96 t in 1969-70.
