Response of potatoes to alachlor and metribuzin

Response of potatoes to alachlor and metribuzin

Proceedings of the Northeastern Weed Science Society, Baltimore, 1977 (Volume 31): 184-188

Excellent broad-leaved weed control without reduction in potato yields was obtained with mixtures of alachlor at 1-2 lb + metribuzin 0.25-0.75 lb/acre at the ground-crack stage. Application of alachlor alone at 1 lb or in mixtures with metribuzin in the 'at crack' stage stunted the potatoes initially, but they recovered with no adverse effects on total yield.
