Response of rice varieties to different levels of fertility

In trials with 6 tall rice in 1966-8, increasing the rates of N + P2O5 + K2O to 20 + 10 + 10, 40 + 20 + 20, 60 + 30 + 30, 80 + 40 + 40 and 100 + 50 + 50 kg/ha increased av. paddy yields from 1.31 t/ha without fertilizer to 1.57, 2.06, 2.38, 2.57 and 2.72 t/ha, resp. Cultivar Kashi gave the highest yields (2.34 t/ha) and Sudha the lowest (1.54 t).
