Response of safflower Carthamus tinctorius L varieties to nitrogen levels under rainfed conditions:



Application of 40 kg N/ha to safflower A-1 and Gila gave seed yields of 2 and 1.62 t/ha, and oil yields of 614 and 611 kg/ha, respectively. Further increases in N rates decreased yields.
