Response of selected resistant maize genotypes to three species of Sclerospora

Response of selected resistant maize genotypes to three species of Sclerospora

Plant Disease Reporter 61(6): 478-481

In tests of ten lines, 33-16, R177, K10, Tx601 and Tx601 X Mp337 have showed good resistance to the Texas strain of S. sorghi. This resistance is similar to that of the Philippine composites DMR1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 and the Thailand strain of S. sorghi or to S. philippinensis and S. sacchari at the concentration of conidia in the inoculum used. The Thailand strain of S. sorghi was not pathogenic on twelve grain and forage sorghums tested in the greenhouse.
