Response of soil bacteria to pentachlorophenol

Response of soil bacteria to pentachlorophenol

Journal of the Science of Soil and Manure 48(2): 40-48

Laboratory experiments were made of the development of PCP (40 p.p.m.)-resistant, PCP-decomposing and dye (crystal violet 12.5 p.p.m.)-resistant bacteria and of total bacteria in two upland soils and one paddy soil. PCP- and dye-resistant bacteria were generally similar in the trend of their response to PCP and their ratio to total bacteria became higher.
