Response of some high yielding varieties of wheat to nitrogen - an economic analysis



Agricultural Situation in India 32(2): 69-72



The response of three dwarf varieties of wheat to various levels of nitrogen application is studied, the most profitable level of nitrogen application estimated for the three varieties, and the effect of change in input-output prices on the economics of nitrogen application is studied. The analysis is based on nitrogen-wheat experiments conducted during 1972-74 at Agricultural College, H.P. University at Palampur. Three varieties - Kalyansona, Sonalika and Hira - were selected for the study.
