Response of some varieties of wheat sown late to different forms of nitrogen, seed treatments and soil covers

Sonalika was outstanding amongst seven late-sown varieties. A thin cover of farmyard manure applied to the soil surface immediately after sowing produced yield increases of 15-23%. Small yield increases due to soaking of the seeds were obtained.
