In field trials at Was Medani in 1968-70, av. seed yield of soyabean Dare, Lee and Hill given 0, 45 or 90 kg N/ha was 182, 219 and 269 kg/ha, with lowest and highest yields from Lee and Hill, resp. Added N increased green seed percentage at harvest, main stem thickness at 1st node, highest LAI and integrated leaf area duration from flowering to harvest, but had no effect on ht. of 1st productive node, number of nodules/plant at harvest or seed oil content.
