Response of soybean varieties to irrigation given at different growth stages under normal and late sown conditions

In trials with 2 soyabean cv., an irrigation at the flowering, pod formation or pod filling stage gave seed yields of 2.24, 2.46 and 2.37 t/ha, resp., in 1972, compared with 19.1 t without irrigation; yields were not significantly affected with irrigation in 1971.
