Response of soybeans grown in an ultisol to residual broadcast and banded P fertilizer

Seeds of soyabean Hardee were sown at 100 kg/ha in an ultisol at Cidra, Puerto Rico in June 1973. This experiment was one of a series designed to study the relative efficiency of banded vs. broadcast P and of its residual effects on different successive crops, which were 2 maize and 1 rice experiment preceding the soyabeans. There were no differences in soyabean seed yields to previously broadcast or banded P, with or without lime; mean yield was 3.7 t/ha.
