Response of soybeans to a morphactin

Response of soybeans to a morphactin

Crop Science 15(2): 157-158

In field trials in 1972-3, plant height of the determinate soyabean Davis sprayed during flower initiation with EMD-7301 (12.5% methyl-2-chloro-9-hydroxyfluorene-(9)-carboxylate) at 6 rates from 12.4 to 760.7 ml/ha was reduced by all application rates and lodging was reduced by the 98.9-ml rate. The higher rates delayed maturity and reduced the number of pods/plant and number of seeds/pod.
