Response of soybeans to planting date in south-eastern Queensland. 3. Agronomic and physiological response of cultivars to planting arrangements

Results from 5 field experiments, designed to evaluate the response of several soyabean cultivars to sowing arrangement, and conducted at 2 locations in S.E. Queensland during 1967-72 are reported. Response to sowing arrangement varied depending on cultivar maturity type, sowing date and availability of moisture during growth. Averaged over cultivars and sowing arrangements, seed yields for irrigated soyabeans were highest for Dec. sowings, and declined as sowing was delayed.
