Response of wheat varieties to fertilizers under irrigated and rainfed conditions - Iran

Dwarf Mexican varieties were compared with local varieties at different N levels in various localities. In several localities the local improved variety, in the absence of applied N, was superior to one or more of the Mexican varieties tested, but in the majority of cases there was no significant difference. When the data from all localities was averaged, it was found that the response to 120 kg N/ha was higher for the Mexican variety Pitic than for the local variety.
