Responses of different varieties of potato to dormancy-breaking chemicals and dates of planting at Jullundur

Freshly-harvested seed tubers of 5 potato cultivars were treated with 1% thiourea, 1 ppm GA and/or 5% ethylene chlorhydrin (EC) for breaking dormancy. The triple treatment with thiourea, GA and EC was most effective in breaking dormancy and increasing tuber yields; EC was the most effective among the 3 chemicals.
