Results of a four-year grazing trial of Dactylis glomerata in association with five leguminous species. I. Development of the cover of the sown species and of some weeds

Annali della Facolta di Agraria, Universita degli Studi di Perugia 29: 21-41

In a four-year trial of 31 ecotypes of D. glomerata from four areas of Italy and of one Danish ecotype, each associated with five leguminous species, the Tuscan and Danish ecotypes had a better initial cover than those from upper Umbria. By the end of the trial, the Danish ecotype had the worst cover and those from upper Umbria were worse than the other Italian ecotypes. The Tuscan ecotypes had the best cover. The ecotypes from the Marches had the longest vegetative cycle.
