Review of the Brazilian cases of canine dioctophymiasis with a record of a case of very heavy Dioctophyme renale infection

A report is given of a Dioctophyme renale infection in a stray dog in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. 3 male worms were found in the body-cavity and one male and 4 females in the right kidney. 30 other cases of this infection have previously been reported in Brazil, all in the south-east.
