A description of the taxonomic arrangement of the genus Beta is followed by a similar treatment for sect. Corollinae, a diagnosis of the section and an account of the range of inflorescence structure found in it. Under the general heading basic species, an historical survey and key are followed by accounts of B. macrorhiza, B. corolliflora and B. lomatogona.
