In trials carried out from 1972 in SW Virginia, 92% control of the brush present was obtained with aerial applications of 2,4,5-T at 11.2 kg/ha+2,4-D 5.6 kg+picloram 1.6 kg and with dichlorprop 6.7 kg+2,4-D 11.2 kg+picloram 1.6 kg. In further trials, dichlorprop at 9.6 kg + 2,4-D 4.8 kg+picloram 1.2 kg, dichlorprop 9.6 kg + picloram 1.2 kg and 2,4,5-T 9.6 kg+picloram 1.2 kg applied in 1975 gave 84, 77 and 73% control, respectively, on assessment the following year.
