When the suitability of detached leaflets of 12 unidentified varieties of hybrid tea roses (Rosa odorata) for rearing Panonychus ulmi (Koch) in the laboratory was evaluated during studies in Kentucky in 1973-74, one variety (referred to as No.9 in these tests) was suitable for continuous rearing for 13 months.
