Scintigraphic studies of degenerative hip joint disease in dogs

Scintigraphic studies of degenerative hip joint disease in dogs

Journal of the American Animal Hospital Association 12(6): 792-796

The effects of experimentally induced joint disease were serially observed by means of radionuclide joint scanning and radiographic examination in five Labrador retriever dogs. Within two weeks of experimental induction of degenerative hip joint disease, radionuclide scans were abnormal and showed asymmetrical increased uptake of radiopharmaceutical in the areas of the femoral head and acetabulum of the affected joints.
