Short-rotation hardwood species as whole-tree raw material for pulp and paper. 7. Absorbent pulps

Short-rotation hardwood species as whole-tree raw material for pulp and paper. 7. Absorbent pulps

Paperi ja Puu 58(12): 857-860, 863-871

Sulphate pulps from whole-tree leafless samples of 5-year-old Salix caprea and pre-commercial thinnings of Pinus sylvestris were treated with O2; the resultant fibre product showed acceptable absorbency. Soda/oxygen treatments were less satisfactory.
