Simultaneous determination of the milk fat and protein content by measurement of IR absorption with the Milko-Scan instrument

Simultaneous determination of the milk fat and protein content by measurement of IR absorption with the Milko-Scan instrument

Milchwissenschaft 31(3): 149-156

ISSN/ISBN: 0026-3788

The performance of the Milko-Scan IR instrument was tested in 6000 analyses of fat and protein in milk. The reproducibility (SD) of the results was plus or minus 0.011% fat and plus or minus 0.015% protein for single and plus or minus 0.02% fat and plus or minus 0.02% protein for serial determinations, plus or minus 0.054% fat and plus or minus 0.045% protein compared with Rose-Gottlieb and Kjeldahl methods respectively, and similar values when compared with the Milko-Tester.
