Akhangaran sheep have been produced by crossing Jaidara ewes with Caucasian rams, and the resulting F1s with Lincolns, followed by inter-se breeding. For 21 Akhangaran and 21 Lincoln X Akhangaran males aged 1 yr, wool length averaged 11.0 and 12.8 cm resp., fibre fineness 26.0 and 27.6 mu , and clean wool yield 64.32 and 68.19%.
