Stability of nitrate reductase under moisture and salt stress in some crops

Stability of nitrate reductase under moisture and salt stress in some crops

Indian Journal of Genetics and Plant Breeding 34A: 1055-1061

The in vivo nitrate reductase activity differed in leaves of Brassica campestris, safflower, barley and wheat. The in vivo nitrate reductase activity in excised leaves of B. campestris and safflower subjected to nitrate-free treatment was lower than that of barley and wheat. The enzyme in barley was more sensitive to salt stress than that in wheat.
