Statistical investigation of the behaviour of the queen in a honeybee colony. 1. Movement of a queen in a small colony

Statistical investigation of the behaviour of the queen in a honeybee colony. 1. Movement of a queen in a small colony

Lietuvos TSR Mokslu Akademijos Darbai, C 3(59): 143-157

Movement of the queen was observed in a single-frame observation hive, which is described as a "plane" nest. Results are expressed mathematically as functions of the probability of finding the queen at a certain distance from the centre of the nest and of the "density" of the queen's tracks.
