In the experiment, group 1 consisted of 159 cows, aged 6-9 yr, which had not returned to oestrus in the 3-14 mth after calving. Group 2 consisted of 47 similarly aged females which had returned 3-12 times to oestrus after insemination. In group 3 there were 18 females , aged 21-27 mth, which had not resumed cyclical activity after calving.
