In sugar beet sown on level land yields were higher with than without sowing on ridges. On level land root yield with sowing on ridges was increased by broadcast or banded fertilizer, but on sloping land yields were higher with broadcast application than with banded application. With broadcast fertilizer and heavy applications of FYM increase in sowing rate had a greater effect on sloping than on level land.
