Studies were carried out in Taiwan on the biology and control of Araecerus fasciculatus (Deg.), a serious pest of stored maize, sweet potato and the medicinal herb chiretta (Ligusticum acutilobum). There were 6 overlapping generations a year. The duration of the different life stages was determined. Females laid an average total of 33.4 eggs each.
