, : Studies on some aspects of control of the yam nematode, Scutellonema bradys. Acta Horticulturae (53): 249-256

Dipping tubers of water yam (Dioscorea alata) infested by the nematode S. bradys in hot water at 50-55 deg C for 40 min completely suppressed the nematode without adversely affecting the storage life, germination, growth and yield of the tubers. Although application of NPK and nemagon completely suppressed the nematode, nemagon significantly reduced tuber yield. The use of FYM gave the highest yield and considerably suppressed the nematode.
