Studies on the gills of fish. II. Gill necrosis in carp

Studies on the gills of fish. II. Gill necrosis in carp

Magyar Allatorvosok Lapja 32(2): 119-124

Gill necrosis of carps was studied histologically and differentiated from other gill diseases. The characteristic stages of the inflammatory process can be distinguished as the disease proceeds. As the early macroscopic lesions are not characteristic, diagnosis can be made by histological examination only. As the disease proceeds regressive lesions become dominant and are easily recognizable to the naked eye.
