Studies on the photosynthetic material productivities of the barley varieties. 1. Growth analysis on different spring habit cultivars of barley under the same temperature condition

Winter barley Suweon 18 and the facultative Kangbori were grown in a glasshouse at day/night temp. of 20 deg /15 deg C. In both RGR decreased as growth was delayed and in Suweon 18 NAR also decreased. During vegetative growth NAR and RGR were related. In Kangbori at the reproductive stage, NAR and the rate of photosynthesis indicated an important role of photosynthetic products of the stem, leaf sheath and ear.
