, : Studies on the quality of tomato fruit grown in peat and nutrient solution media. Acta Horticulturae (82): 213-222

Tests for acidity, soluble solids (SS), juice conductivity, ascorbic acid, colour, flavour and firmness were carried out on tomato fruit of 6 cvs in mid May, June and July. Samples from each batch were tested at time of harvest and after one week of storage at 19-23 deg C. The results of tests at time of harvest showed that fruits of Cura grown in nutrient solution culture (NSC) and Sonato (NSC) were most acidic while those of Estrella (NSC) and Virosa in peat modules (P) had least acid.
