Study of photosynthetic rate and productivity in maize in relation to heterosis

Study of photosynthetic rate and productivity in maize in relation to heterosis

Study of photosynthetic rate and productivity in maize in relation to heterosis (Dep. 484-77): 16

In a study of VIR44 X VIR38, VIR26 X VIR27 and Gloriya Yanetskogo X VIR44, the heterotic hybrids had a more active photosynthetic apparatus than their parents, indicated by a higher rate of the Hill reaction and a greater rate and duration of CO2 assimilation during daylight.
