Study of stability and mutability in mutants of bread wheat after repeated treatment with mutagens

Study of stability and mutability in mutants of bread wheat after repeated treatment with mutagens

Elmli asarlar Azarb univ Biol almlari ser (2): 10-12

Seeds of sphaerococcoid, speltoid, compactoid and duroid M5 mutants induced in the variety Belaya Tserkov' 198 by 0.05-0.07% N-nitroso-N-ethylurea (NEU) were treated with NEU in concentrations of 0.0025, 0.05 and 0.07%. Most of the mutants studied were less mutable than the initial variety. No mutants were found in the compactoids and few among the speltoids. Among the moderately stable sphaerococcoids, one line proved to be more mutable than the others.
