For 24 Dutch Black Pied, 14 Holstein-Friesian and 16 Meuse-Rhine-Yssel calves, gestation length averaged 276.2, 284.1 and 278.6 days resp., birth weight 36.7, 45.0 and 40.9 kg, and age at the beginning of fattening 9.5, 8.6 and 11.0 days. Final live weight averaged 186.9, 186.5 and 187.1 kg, duration of fattening 129.9, 130.7 and 124.6 days, daily gain 1151, 1074 and 1176 g, and milk powder consumed/kg gain 1.57, 1.76 and 1.52 kg.
