Suitability of Limousin X Italian Friesian crossbreds for meat production

For 6 Limousin X Italian Friesian (IF) males , 6 Limousin X IF females , and 6 IF males resp., live weight at slaughter averaged 461.00, 385.50 and 476.40 kg and warm carcass weight 263.83, 219.50 and 257.90 kg, differences between males and females being highly significant. Dressing percentage averaged 57.25, 56.96 and 54.61, the crossbreds being significantly higher than the purebreds.
