The combination effect of preplant incorporated applications of trifluralin and metribuzin on soybean tolerance to metribuzin

The combination of preplant incorporated applications of trifluralin and metribuzin increased the weed control spectrum and economy of application. In 1973 field trials, soybeans receiving trifluralin at 0.56 and 0.84 kg/ha were protected from injury from metribuzin at 0.28 to 1.12 kg/ha. This antagonistic interaction was also observed in the 1974 field trials and in glasshouse studies. Soybean injury from metribuzin at high soil pH values was reduced by combination with trifluralin.
