The concentrations of copper, zinc and molybdenum in swine liver and the relationship to the distribution of soluble copper- and zinc-binding proteins

The concentrations of Cu, Zn and Mo were measured in liver samples from 21 normal slaughter pigs (average age about 6 months) and in 36 sows (average age about 2 years). The following mean values were found: slaughter pigs: 15 plus or minus 8 mu g Cu/g, 45 plus or minus 7 mu g Zn/g and 1 plus or minus 0.2 mu g Mo/g wet weight; sows: 46 plus or minus 70 mu g Cu/g, 70 plus or minus 26 mu g Zn/g and 1.3 plus or minus 0.3 mu g Mo/g wet weight.
