The effect of different soil-management systems and herbicides on the growth and cropping of raspberries

The effect of different soil-management systems and herbicides on the growth and cropping of raspberries

British Crop Protection Conference Weeds Thirteenth Weed Control Conference, Brighton, 1976 Vol1: 241-248

Cultivation, non-cultivation, straw mulching and the use of a residual and a contact herbicide were compared in two experiments lasting 9 and 5 years respectively. Where no mulch was used fruit yield was not consistently different on cultivated as compared with non-cultivated plots. Straw mulches resulted in consistently larger yields and less cane production.
