The effect of elevation on age of harvest at Puna Sugar Company



Hawaiian Sugar Technologists 1976 reports: 239-245



Data are presented on the average 10-year yields of sugar cane harvested at various ages, at elevations from <400 ft to >1300 ft. For elevations <800 ft the best yields were obtained from cane 25-28 months old; as the elevation increased the optimum age rose to 31-33 months.
