When 25 German Landrace sows in their 3rd or later pregnancy were fed a normal ration (140 g digestible protein/kg) and 25 females were fed an enriched ration (160 g protein/kg), there was no significant difference between groups in av. litter size (11.6 plus or minus 2.8 and 11.7 plus or minus 2.2 resp.).
