The effect of erosion on organic matter in Chestnut soils in the foothills of the Greater Caucasus

The effect of erosion on organic matter in Chestnut soils in the foothills of the Greater Caucasus

Pochvovedenie (11): 103-112

Changes in the content of humus and nitrogen in these soils, and the effect of climatic conditions and erosion on the accumulation of plant residues, on humus and nitrogen losses, and on humus composition are examined. The possibility of using data on the group composition of humus to diagnose the degree of erosion of Chestnut soils is discussed.
